the Rudy Waltz is a jazz piano trio based in Charleston, SC. Started by Ron Wiltrout and
now including Richard White and Jake Holwegner this trio is a continuation of the jazz trio
tradition but moving forward into the 21st century. They play standards in their own way and
often seek out less commonly played tunes for their repertoire. Pop song arrangements are
also featured, but throughout all there is the element of deep interaction and freedom. They've
held a residency every Tuesday night at Mistral Restaurant in Charleston since 2006 and have
used that time to hone a unique sound in modern traditional jazz.
